Protein packed winter buns

The crowning glory of a brisk winter outing is a chunky creamy bun. By following this PULS recipe, you can also enjoy your treat with a clear conscience.

How to make (12 buns):

2,5dl milk or vegetable milk of your choice

50g margarine

1pss dry yeast

1 tbsp psyllium

7dl grounded oatmeal

a pinch of salt

1 egg

2 tsp cardamom

1 measure PULS Whey Vanilla

+ sweetener of your choice, e.g. sugar, coconut sugar, syrup, honey, flavour syrup

+ egg for spreading

Filling

4dll frozen strawberries

2 scoops PULS Whey Wild Strawberries

200g cream cheese

Heat the milk to a little warmer than hand temperature. Mix in dry yeast, psyllium, salt, cardamom and PULS Whey Vanilla. Let stand for a while.  Add the oat flour + sweetener of your choice into mixture and mix until smooth. Finally, add the butter and egg and mix until the dough is smooth. Bake into a bun. The dough is sticky, so flour your hands while baking as needed. Rise the buns for about 20 minutes. Brush with egg and bake in 200°C for 15 minutes. Let the buns cool down.

Prepare the filling. Measure the ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth. If necessary, add a splash of liquid, but as little as possible to keep the filling firm. Spoon between the buns.

Garnish with icing sugar if desired and serve immediately.
