Protein-packed apple cake

How about a slice of delicious, protein-packed apple cake? With this delicious recipe, you can easily create a slightly healthier treat.


Recipe:

2 apples

3 egg whites

1 egg

1dl PULS Whey Vanilla

3dl oatmeal

1 tsp baking powder

2 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp coconut oil

(e.g. coconut sugar, flavour syrup or sweetener)

 

Crumble mix

1dl wheat flour

2 tbsp coconut oil

(e.g. coconut sugar, flavour syrup or sweetener)

Preheat oven to 175°C. Slice the apples thinly. Whip the egg whites into a stiff froth. Add the whole egg and whisk for a moment. Grind the oatmeal into a fine flour in a blender. Gently pour into the egg mixture. Add the PULS Whey Vanilla, baking powder, cinnamon and coconut oil. If desired, add coconut sugar, flavor syrup or sweetener for sweetness. Mix gently until smooth. Pour into an 18cm diameter loose-bottomed pan.  Place the apple slices on top.

Mix together the wheat flour and coconut oil. If you like, add sugar, flavour syrup or sweetener to sweeten the mixture. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the cake. Bake at 175°C for about 20 minutes or until the cake is done. You can test the ripeness with a toothpick.

 Tip!  By mixing PULS Whey Vanilla with a splash of water, you can easily make a delicious custard on top of the cake!
